REGULAR MEETING
OLD LYME INLAND WETLANDS AND WATERCOURSES COMMISSION
TUESDAY, JUNE 27, 2017
PRESENT WERE: Skip DiCamillo, Rachel Gaudio, Bob DePianta, Christian Tompkins and Evan Griswold.
MINUTES OF MEETING DATED MAY 30, 2017
Christian Tompkins made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes dated May 30, 2017. Rachel Gaudio seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
17-6 – LAWRENCE PORTER – 3 CHAMPLAIN DRIVE – IN GROUND SWIMMING POOL AND SMALL PATIO.
Keith Rosenfeld gave a brief overview of the application. He noted the property was located close to Swan Brook. He stated it was a beautiful piece of land. DiCamillo asked if there was alternative locations. Rosenfeld indicated the location for the pool was limited. The commission agreed to set a Site Walk for Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
OLD BUSINESS
17-1 SANDY SPENCER/BILL MCNEIL – 30 WHIPPOORWILL ROAD – REMOVING MATERIALS TO LEVEL BACKYARD FOR SAFETY AND CORRECT EROSION INTO BASEMENT.
The applicant submitted a letter requesting a 35 day extension. The commission granted the extension. This item will be discussed at the July meeting.

17-2 DAVID AND INNA MASCO – 178-5 BOSTON POST ROAD – AMEND EXISING PERMIT.
Mr. Masco submitted a letter to the commission dated July 16, 2017 explaining that the terrace the commission approved cannot be constructed as discussed. Therefore, Mr. Masco requested an amendment to allow the terrace to be built with footings that would be able to support both the weight on the terrace as well as not be lifted as the structure is located in a wind zone.
The commission discussed with Mr. Masco the revised construction plans.
Evan Griswold made a motion to amend the existing permit to allow the decking to be secured to the minimum amount of 8” sonitube footings required by the building official and the Inland Wetlands Officer be notified prior to construction and proper erosion controls are in place.
Christian Tompkins seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
